Slackware v12.1 Released

The infamous Slackware Team has released a stable new version of its Linux distribution.  The new released is version 12.1 and looks to have some good new features.  Check it out.

Ubuntu 8.04 Final Version Released!

It’s true, you can now download Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron for the Desktop and Server.  This release is LTS or Long Term Support.  Please use Torrents for downloading, because the servers and mirrors are being slammed today.  Thanks!

Ubuntu 8.04 “Hardy Heron” April 24th

I’m looking forward to the release of Ubuntu 8.04.  It includes many new features including the new GNOME desktop environment.  Be sure to look for it on Thursday April 24th!

Avant Window Navigator

This open-source application originally hosted on Google Code is an awesome way to have a dock on Linux.  I use Ubuntu as my distro and I’ve got to say that as this project progresses, it’s going to only get better.  Eventually I think AWN will be fully capable to reproduce everything the Mac OS X Dock does.  Anyway, the project lives in two places so thoroughly check out these sites to get this thing on your Linux box and play with it.  Very, very highly recommended.
